Lonesome

I thought I would regret it

But I didn’t

Not even a little

I needed it

I had forgotten what it was like to be close to someone

I had forgotten what it was like to be touched softly and kissed sweetly

To be held

To be cared for

And even if it was just for a moment it was worth it

It was worth not feeling numb and broken

It was worth feeling again

It was worth a moment of not feeling empty and alone
